I made it back Friday just in time for the kids to be picked up from summer camp. We drove straight from the airport to camp, stopping only for some Chick-Fil-A on the way. I have to say I was kind of disappointed by Chick-Fil-A. I guess I have put it on a pedestal too long since we couldn’t have it. It wasn’t as good as I remember it. One year here, I’ve become a Popeyes person now.

We had a super busy week at home. Over the weekend, Meg hosted a pool party and we caught up with lots of friends.

Sunday, we celebrated my sister with her baby shower for Baby Tate.

Monday, we celebrated Cindy’s birthday and Tuesday we celebrated Ryan’s!

Matt and I also got our dentist and doctors appointments in and did many trips to Walmart and TJ Maxx for shopping. Brooklyn also got over a foot of hair cut off!

We filled every last minute meeting friends for dinner and drinks and before we knew it, the week was over.

Saturday, we headed back to Dulles. Our outgoing flight was delayed by two hours, meaning we would miss our connection in Munich, but we were able to get re-booked on a later flight. We had three huge suitcases, Matt’s golf bag, and four carry-ons and luckily they let us check in all but two carry-ons. Security was so quick and we were in the lounge in no time.
We finally got on the plane and I was pleasantly surprised to see all of our suitcases out the plane window, waiting to be loaded. As the plane continued to fill, I noticed that two of our bags had been left sitting on the tarmac. A few minutes later, another luggage cart came along and picked them up and drove off! I paged a flight attendant and they attempted to get ground staff to come back but no luck. We would have to track them down from Germany.

Besides the baggage drama, we made it back to Stuttgart by 2pm, got the washing machine started, and went to bed. We are ready to catch up on rest and get back into our routine!
