We were back in Maryland for almost two weeks for Christmas! We celebrated Christmas Eve, Christmas, a wedding, and New Year’s Eve with our amazing friends and family and spent most of the rest of the trip running around.
This has definitely been the hardest goodbye so far, even more than when we first moved. Ryan cried the entire day we left until we were through security at the airport. In an attempt to make him feel better, we all ended up revealing that we felt the same way. This was hard. We follow a YouTube channel of another family living in Germany who moved the same time as us, and they expressed the same thing about going home this Christmas. Maybe it’s that we haven’t been gone that long, but long enough that we are missing the changes happening at home? Coming home is definitely an exciting time but it comes with a lot of sadness about the things we’ve left behind.
Anyways, we are counting down the days until we are back again.
