It’s been a super short week and going to be a super short post because we are headed back to the US for a while and will be taking a break!
We got back to Le Mans late Sunday and got back into the routine early Monday. Ryan did a week of summer day-camp and the rest of us caught up on work, school, and house stuff. This is Matt’s last semester of school and he has a lot of big projects to work on; I’m so happy he’s going to be done soon!
Tuesday, we took a break from the routine and visited the IMAX theater, Traumpalast (aka Dream Palace) in Leonberg. Interestingly, the biggest IMAX screen in the world is just outside of Stuttgart. We keep saying we need to go and experience it, but just haven’t gotten around to it. On Tuesdays, they show English movies so when a friend was going and offered to book our tickets, we jumped on it.

We saw Transformers, which was OK. But the real experience was just going to the theater, which reminded me of the Stuttgart Opera Haus, with its grand staircases and chandeliers. They sold bier and wine, which was a treat, in addition to the normal movie snacks. The tickets and snacks were actually so reasonably priced! For four tickets, it was €65 and our snacks and drinks for the four of us only came to €25! So much cheaper than in the US, especially considering this is the largest IMAX screen in the world.

Wednesday, I took a trip up to Ramstein for work and did a little plane spotting. When I got home, Matt and I went for a drink. We just got e-bikes a few weeks ago and we biked to the town center to a Biergarten and had a drink. It was so nice, I can’t wait to do it again!

Thursday, we got ready for our trip home and biked to the Biergarten one more time.

Friday morning, we packed up the car and dogs and headed to Frankfurt for our flight back to the US.

I was happy to hear that you bought E-Bikes. There are usually good bike paths along all the rivers in Germany. I bought a bike while we were there an found riding along the river to be a great experience. It was nice to hear that Matt as finished his last semester. What are his plans for the future.
