We had a busy, but pretty “normal” week at home. Lots of school and activities for the kids and lots of work for me and Matt.
Our puppy friends, Tobi and Paisley, visited with us this week while their parents were traveling.

Over the weekend, Matt went on a golf trip with a friend to the Zugspitze Golf Course. This has been on his bucket list since we got here so I’m glad he was able to cross it off!

Ryan went on a weekend-long camping trip to the Black Forest with his Boy Scout troop where they fished all weekend. If my memory serves correctly, he has never fished before and he loved it! He came home and was non-stop talking about it and asking us to get a fishing license so we can go more often. Ryan caught four fish on Saturday. He ate two for dinner that night, and gave one to someone else who hadn’t caught any. He brought the fourth one home to cook for us next week.

Saturday, Brooklyn had another tennis match. This time, she played a doubles’ match with her best friend, Allison. It was a really close and super long match. Eventually, the coaches had them play a sudden-death tie breaker (again) and unfortunately, they lost. Overall, their team did win against the opposing team.

Sunday, a friend and I went on the Stuttgart Wein Safari. The Wein Safari took place in the Untertürkheim vineyards, overlooking Stuttgart. Five wineries that are closely located hosted the event. Each participant received a “passport” and had to visit each of the “Big Five” wineyards to collect a stamp. Each stop was themed with one of the “Big Five” animals; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. The wineries were decorated like zoos and the workers dressed like safari guides. At each stop, we received a huge glass of wine and received a passport stamp. Needless to say, it was a very fun afternoon in the sun and we were glad to be picked up by Matt at the end and not have to find our own way home.
