We had another super quiet week at home. Matt and I are both taking it easy on our eyes and not running around too much.
Matt had his second follow up after Lasik and his vision is now at 160%. Like, what? How is that even possible; he must be able to see through walls now I guess? It’s ironic he’s seeing so well; I told him he must have taken the vision I’m missing since my surgery 🤪
On Thursday night, Brooklyn had her tennis banquet. She earned a second Varsity letter and tennis pin. When presenting the letter, her coach talked about how much she had improved since the beginning of the season when she had just started playing. We are all so proud of her.

Friday night was the Middle School Halloween dance for Ryan, and Brooklyn stayed the night at a friends house so Matt and I were able to go to dinner at one of our favorite sushi restaurants. Then, Saturday morning, we took Ryan and some friends go-karting at the Sensodrome.

This time, Matt and I were both able to go go-karting with them. This was my first time! I could not believe how fast they went and how much you get flung around! I almost flew out of the cart several times during the race and had lots of bruises the next day 😂. It was so much fun but we are definitely not going to make this a regular thing.
Saturday night was the High School football championship. Stuttgart High made it all the way to the finals (and has for the last four years or so), but this is the first year that Stuttgart has been able to host the championship game. Matt and I went with Brooklyn, along with pretty much everyone in the community. It was quite an event with over 3000 spectators and came down to the last seconds of the game, which Stuttgart won!
Ryan had a friend over to spend the night so he missed most of the excitement but did have a huge nerf war; from which we are still picking up nerf darts.
Sunday, we took a trip down to Todtnau in the Black Forest for a fall hike. It was a long drive, almost to the Swiss border, but the fall colors were worth the trip.

We hiked to the Todtnauer Waterfall and then climbed the stairs to the top. We had the dogs with us and they did amazingly, although they did get into some barking matches with other dogs.

We made it back home in time for it to start getting dark. The time changed over the weekend, so dark season has commenced. It’s already starting to get dark by 4 and then completely dark by 5:30.
Matt and I ended the weekend with dinner at a friends house, while the kids caught up on their homework after a busy weekend.
