I’ve been falling really behind in posting updates! The weekends are just so busy; I don’t have time to get everything in at once.
Two weeks ago, my new nephew, Nix was born. At that time, I was already two weeks late in writing updates so I did not put it in but he is here now and he’s so cute!
This week, there was nothing worth writing about during the week, as usual. But on Friday, I was able to fly home and surprise Alli and finally meet Nix.
My parents picked me up from the airport and of course my mom had an elaborate scheme for me to surprise Alli at a restaurant. When we arrived, she made me sit in the car until she sent me a text to get out. Hilariously, when I did finally try to get out of the car, the alarm went off and the doors would not open. I had to call my dad for help to let me out 🤣.
I finally did make it inside the restaurant where Alli was of course, shocked. Nix slept through the whole thing, and I only got a chance to look at him. Tate also slept almost the whole time but I did get a chance to catch up with my parents, grandmother, and Alli and Chad.
After dinner we went straight home for me to go to bed. I woke up at 4am the next morning and when I couldn’t go back to sleep, I just got up at 6 and went to Walmart for some bargain shopping.
When Alli was up, I headed over to her house and spent the morning there with her, Nix, and Tate. At lunchtime, we picked up food from Chick-fil-A and then headed to my grandmother’s for a visit with her.
We ate lunch and my grandmother had fun holding Nix, and Tate had fun playing with toys and running back-and-forth between us.
The next stop for me was Matt’s dad’s house for a visit with his family.
Afterwards, I met my parents back at their house and we headed to dinner at Mamma Lucias’s.
The final stop of the day was our friends house because they were having a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Unfortunately, we forgot to take any pictures, which was a probably a good thing for me because I was wiped after running around town all day.
Sunday morning I was up and running around again. I stopped by my grandmother’s and said goodbye to her one more time and then my grandfather’s to see him.
The last stop was Alli’s to say bye to her, Tate, and Nix one more time. We will be back to see them again in June.
It was time for me to head to the airport for my flight. I was so exhausted and slept in the car on the way to the airport. Then, for the first time ever, I allowed myself to fall asleep in the airport for about two hours.
Luckily, I did not miss my flight. When I boarded, I was pleasantly surprised with an entire row to myself. I built myself a couch out of the three seats, pillows and blankets, then slept most of the flight to Zürich. When I got to Zürich, I slept again in the airport and then on my connecting flight back to Stuttgart. I don’t know why I was so tired, it’s usually not that bad. I did have to work the rest of the day after I got home so I am glad I got the extra rest.
Next week is going to be a quick week before we leave for Spring Break!
