Another week has passed, and I seriously can’t believe it was our 200th week in Germany! Time is just flying by; we didn’t even notice it was a milestone week!
The kids play softball and baseball every day, and Matt and I drive them from there to whatever second activity they have in the evening.
The first games of the season were scheduled for this Saturday. We were told they had been canceled on Thursday due to the current travel card freeze. What a huge disappointment! Fortunately, the administration worked hard to get the games an exception to travel and then to reschedule them for Friday to avoid another cancellation due to a potential government shutdown on Saturday.

Luckily, the kids were already off school Friday, and I was off work. It was freezing and even snowed a little as we drove to school, but the excitement was still high! I dropped them off at the bus at 10, and then we all drove up to Wiesbaden for the doubleheader. It is so amazing that both kids go on the same bus to the same destination; it feels great!

The softball team won both games, but the baseball team lost both. Everyone was just glad they got to play at all!

I grabbed Ryan as soon as the second game was over, and we raced back to Stuttgart. Over the weekend, there was another Boy Scout campout, and as a new patrol leader, Ryan could not miss it.
This weekend’s theme was the “Wood Burner, ” meaning they can only cook and heat themselves with wood they’ve chopped. The Scouts also had the option to build their own shelter over the weekend. It was freezing the whole weekend. Luckily for Ryan, he completed that test last year, and while he helped some others build their shelters, he slept in a tent.
On Saturday, we took Brooklyn and Kenneth to the outlets for lunch and some shopping. Then, while Ryan was freezing at his campout, Brooklyn and I cashed in a Marriott free-night certificate at the hotel near our house. We packed a suitcase of beauty treatments, ordered Thai food, and binged-watched TV. It was amazing! We sure did miss Ryan and think about him freezing the whole time, though.
On Sunday, we were all back home, caught up on things around the house, and rested before it was time to get ready for the week ahead!
