Week 212: First Week of June

The view from our front window at 10pm.

This has been a really quiet week! For me, it started late because I didn’t get back from Porto until Monday night, but I was straight back into work on Tuesday.

On Tuesday night, Matt and I went to Tapas Tuesday at Sitt Wine Bar with some friends while Brooklyn and Ryan worked on the mountain of schoolwork that still needed to be finished.

Friday was my day off, and it was pouring rain. It ended up pouring rain all weekend, and this was a blessing in disguise. I would have normally packed the weekend with activities, but instead, I had an excuse to rest and catch up on things at home. I started Friday with brunch at Kevin Kugel’s with a friend.

Brunch at Kevin Kugel’s always involves a chocolate cake.

I spent the rest of the day running errands and going to and from appointments. Friday night, we dropped off Ryan to head off on another Scouts camping trip, and the rest of us ordered Thai food takeout and hung out at home.

Saturday morning, Brooklyn took the SATs, and Matt worked as the technologist for the test. I slept in, and when everyone was home again, we cleaned and hung around the house.

Saturday night, Brooklyn babysat, and Matt and I went to a cellar tour and wine tasting at the Fellbacher Winery. I love their wines, and we were really looking forward to the event. What we didn’t count on was that the entire tour and tasting were in German. We could not keep up with any of it, but we still enjoyed the tour, dinner, and tasting.

On Sunday, we all slept in again and then were lazy around the house. Ryan came home at 4 and we continued being lazy until bedtime.

I barely took any pictures all week, but we didn’t really do a lot that was picture-worthy. Somehow, despite all the laziness over the weekend, we were all still tired and went to bed early Sunday night. We really needed all the extra rest! There are only two days of school left next week, and we are ready to jump into summer!
