Week 231: Homecoming

Homecoming 2025

We had a short week after returning from Romania. Fortunately, despite the ongoing government shutdown, the school system got permission for extracurricular activities to resume- so Spirit Week and Homecoming were back on!

On Thursday, the Brooklyn and the rest of the seniors enjoyed Senior Breakfast while the rest of the school took the PSATs.

Friday was the long-awaited homecoming game against Naples — and Stuttgart came out on top with a final score of 32-0! The win set a cheerful tone for the dance the following evening.

Originally, Homecoming was scheduled for the first weekend in October. Because of that, Ryan had planned to attend his favorite Boy Scouts camping trip of the year — the Fishing Camp Out this weekend. When the dance was rescheduled, he was faced with a tough choice of which to attend. Thankfully, with the help of some friends, we found a way for him to attend both. He attended the campout during the day and got to fish, then returned home in time to get ready for the dance. He even came back with three salmon-trout!

Of course, Ryan being Ryan, he took a shower when he go home — and then immediately started cleaning his fish. We pointed out that he now smelled like fish again, so he had to jump back in for a second shower before getting dressed! 😂

Ryan, all ready for Homecoming

Once ready, he joined a group of friends for a pre-dance dinner. His friend’s mom, who hosted the dinner, is an amazing party planner and had decorated beautifully to match the dance’s theme, “Masquerade.”

Brooklyn attended the dance with a friend from another school as her date. They went out to dinner in Stuttgart with another couple before heading to the dance together.

Sunday was spent relaxing at home and recharging. With another busy week ahead, we were happy to enjoy some downtime.
