Week 88: Home Renovations

We had a short week back at home after our adventure up to Tromsø.

We jumped back into work and school and spent all of our free time moving all of our furniture and clothes out of our bedroom and closet. Once again, we are indebted to friends who helped us empty the room quickly!

The workers came and drilled holes into the subfloor and installed drying machines. They are so loud! Hopefully they will have everything dried up before they come back and check in two weeks.

Our empty bedroom with the drying machines installed.

In the meantime, we are camping out in our guest bedroom upstairs and our belongings are scattered everywhere. We are counting the seconds until we can move back into our room.

Friday was my day off. I was desperate to wipe the memory of the Norwegian pizza from my memory so after the floor workers left, Matt and I headed downtown for pizza at my favorite restaurant, L’Osteria. I had my favorite meal ever; margherita pizza, mozzarella caprese, and an Aperol spritz and was able to almost forget about the Norwegian pizza.

Saturday night, we had dinner with friends at The Boathouse, a Biergarten in our town that transforms into a pop-up winter hut during the off season. It was an awesome time with good food and live music and we needed almost all day Sunday to recover!
